The aim of the Assens Outdoor Arena is to create a regional meeting point for water and outdoor activities in Vestfyn. Through the creation of community around the water sports, Assens can create a stronger pride and identity in living with the Little Belt as a neighbour. The goal is for more families, as well as children and young people on Funen to become water-happy and active in nature.

When the sugar factory in Assens closed in 2006, the buildings were transformed into the leisure and cultural institution Arena Assens. The area around the buildings had been waste space until our addition of Southern Denmark's first cable car for wakeboarding and water skiing in 2022. The project involved the expansion of the current lake on site, as well as the construction of a common association clubhouse and path system around the lakes.
We hope to build on the outdoor life that the cable park has provided and create the framework for an environment where everyone can gather and practice water sports together and become part of the vibrant and energetic community that encourages active lifestyles and creates memories for life!
