The School in Nature. Nature in the School.

In our proposal for Gilbjerg School Version 2.0, we extend the school into the surrounding nature. The original roof is lengthened and the sloping topography underneath provides a gradually increasing ceiling height, which opens up the school towards the idyllic landscape. The main school building is subdivided into smaller clusters, each specifically adapted to meet the needs of children at different ages. An outdoor learning lab brings the students into meaningful contact with the diversity of nature. After school hours the building serves as a local culture house.
